An embodiment of dedication, passion, and transformation, Jacqueline Thweatt-Burton is dedicated to the world of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Education. Jacqueline has a Masters in Education and is a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Jacqueline's journey began as a General Education Teacher, then a Special Education Teacher, where she bore witness to the myriad of challenges faced by children with diverse needs. While working for the Mississippi Department of Education and the University of Mississippi as a Professional Development Coordinator, she had the invaluable opportunity to shape educational methodologies and provide training frameworks for educators and college students across the state.
What truly sets Jacqueline apart is her unyielding commitment to individualized care. She sees beyond challenges and diagnoses, focusing on the unique potential inherent in each individual. By blending her educational insights with behavioral analysis, Jacqueline offers a holistic approach that fosters independence, resilience, and growth.
Jacqueline's advocacy extends beyond individual interactions. She is a recognized voice in ABA practices, leading workshops, seminars, and community outreach programs, demystifying the realm of behavioral interventions for a broader audience.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Jacqueline is an avid reader, loves fishing, and a Jane Austen fan. Every life experience, she believes, offers a fresh perspective on human behavior and the myriad avenues through which it can be nurtured.
In Jacqueline Thweatt-Burton, one doesn't merely find an analyst or an educator; they find a trailblazer, dedicated to illuminating the path towards a brighter future for all her clients and their families.
Marissa Thweatt, a passionate and dedicated behavior analyst, is driven by profound belief in the potential for growth and independence in every individual.
Marissa's journey began with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Education and Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She began observations in the general education setting where she quickly found interest to advocate for children with disabilities and to play a role in helping them reach their full potential. This led Marissa to pursue her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis which she received from Ball State University. As a graduate student and prior to earning her BCBA credentials, she worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing direct services to clients in the school, home, and community setting. Marissa received her BCBA credentials in March 2023 and is proudly licensed in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Throughout practice, Marissa brings a deep commitment to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and a genuine desire to help individuals become the best version of themselves. With a firm belief in the power of positivity and personalized approaches, Marissa has an innate ability to 'see the light' within others, guiding her in tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs. Marissa is on a mission to create a path towards growth, independence, and a successful future for those she works with.
Beyond the realm of Applied Behavior Analysis, Marissa finds joy in making memories with her family and close friends. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling. She is always on the lookout for a beautiful view. For her, it's these simple moments that make life truly special.
A quote that resonates perfectly with Marissa both professionally and personally is: "A failure is not always a mistake; it may be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying." This wisdom serves as a constant reminder to persist in the face of challenges, embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning.
